Childhood Anxiety

It's normal for children to feel worried or anxious from time to time – such as when they're starting school, or meeting new people. For some children, anxiety affects their behaviour and thoughts every day, interfering with their school, home and social life.

Signs of anxiety can include not sleeping properly, poor concentration, repetitive behaviour, continuously seeking adult attention, getting angry or worried, any tummy aches and feeling unwell. When a child is anxious many parents do not know what to do to ease the anxiety and help.

At The Behaviour Clinic we can help by providing advice and support for parents/carers and therapy for the child if is needed to reduce anxiety.

Therapy Options

If you think your child could be suffering from anxiety you can book an initial consultation to discuss the symptoms. We can provide advice on how to reduce this anxiety.

If more in-depth services are needed we would recommend:

Basic Emotional and Behavioural Support Programme. This programme provides a comprehensive assessment of why your child has become anxious and designs a therapeutic programme individual to the child.

​

Behavioural Therapy. This therapy works to solve current problems and change unhelpful thinking and behaviour through direct work with the child. This therapy can form part of an emotional and behavioural support programme.
